Coyote’s Howl Oct 4 – 8

Dear Parents and Families,

It’s hard to believe that we are already in October. We are grateful for all your help and support during our start-up and the month of September.

As many of you are aware, the province has updated their mask mandate to include students in Kindergarten through grade 3. Parents should have received a letter from our Superintendent Doug Sheppard on Friday, but I am including it below as well.

Letter to Families – October 1, 2021

Parents may want to consider looking into a mask lanyard for their kids. I find lanyards are helpful in many ways. They help make it easier to have your mask ready when you need it and they also make it harder to lose your mask.

Photo Day is Wednesday, Oct 6th.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

If possible please leave your dogs at home during drop-off and pick-up times. Please note that there are children at our school (and even adults) who have a phobia of dogs. Unfortunately, such phobias are present despite the size or breed of the dog. In past years we’ve even had incidences where dogs have been aggressive towards students. If you feel that you must bring your dog to school during drop-off and pick-up times, please tie/leash your dog along the front fence. Please do not tie them up at the bike racks since many students travel through that area during activity breaks.

Dogs should never be past the fenced area at any time. We are finding that despite good intentions by dog owners, we are still finding dog-poop on our grounds. This, of course, is of great concern as kids often step in it during recess and lunch. Please help us by spreading the word to your neighbours as well. We also encourage the use of the dog park as opposed to our school field/school grounds.

If your child rides to school in some way (bikes, scooters, skateboards etc…), please help us remind your children that when they arrive on school grounds, that they should walk their wheels. Unfortunately, we have had too many accidental collisions on school grounds.

Please help your child dress for the weather. A reminder that we will send kids out in the rain. Inside days only happen on rare occasions when there are extreme weather conditions outside.
