Coyote’s Howl Oct 21 – 25

Dear Parents and Families,

Many of you know that our election will take place on Monday and that our gym will be a polling station. As a result we are anticipating higher traffic than normal. Please help us by walking to school that day as well as walking to vote (if we are your assigned station). Also, as always, please avoid being on the school grounds during recess and lunch in order to avoid confusion for the students and supervisors on duty.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

If possible please leave your dogs at home during drop-off and pick-up times. Please note that there are children at our school (and even adults) who have a phobia towards dogs. Unfortunately such phobias are present despite the size of the dog. If you feel that you must bring your dog to school during drop-off and pick-up times, please tie/leash your dog along the front fence close to the bike racks. Dogs should never be past the fenced area near our bike racks/on our school grounds at any time. We are finding that despite good intentions by dog owners, we are still finding dog-poo on our grounds. This of course, is of great concern as kids often step in it during recess and lunch. Please help us by spreading the word to your neighbours as well. We also encourag the use of the dog park as opposed to our school field/school grounds.

We are looking for some parents who would be willing to spend a bit of time assembling some iPad Crates for us.

The instructions say that assembly may require a wrench or two. If you have those as well, we would love it if you can also bring them, since our tool selection at school is limited. Please email Mr. Douangchanh at mdouangchanh@deltasd.bc.ca if you can help us out.

We are excited that LEGO Club is finally starting! Thanks to all the families that generously donated. The Club will run every Tuesday, and will be grade specific. A schedule of dates with grades is available below and just outside the LST room. The grade twos had a chance to join this week, and the student leaders and myself enjoyed watching all their creativity shine. We are looking forward to all the creations that are to come.

Halloween Costume Parade and Costume Guidelines

Our Costume Parade will be after lunch on Halloween.

Please remind your children that…

  • costumes should not be too scary
  • toy weapons should be kept at home
  • if possible, try to avoid masks. If masks are unavoidable, they should be used during the parade only.
  • Some students may want to bring an extra set of clothes for after the parade.
  • Parents are welcome to attend

Just a reminder of our traffic patterns for our school. Please help us by reviewing them and following them during drop-off and pick-up.
