Coyote’s Howl Oct 18 – 22

Dear Parents and Families
I hope you are having a relaxing weekend (and hopefully you are staying dry)!

We are excited to have our first hot lunch day in a very long time.

Don’t forget that orders for hot lunch need to be in by this Wednesday, October 20th

Our amazing PAC is bringing the pumpkin patch to us. We are encouraging kids to wear plaid that day and we are suggesting that kids bring a $3 donation for their pumpkin.

Don’t forget to mention you’re from Beach Grove Elementary next time you’re at our local Cobs! They’ll give a portion of the sales to the school!

UBC Student Teachers and DTAC Practicum Students

We have the honour of hosting several student teachers from UBC and DTAC EA students.

Please help us welcome Mr. Meech, Ms. Dykstra, Ms. Virk, Ms. Van Ryk, Ms. Ang, Ms. Uppal and Ms. Heer

Volleyball will be starting soon for gr. 6s and 7s. Please note that at this time, sports will be in-house and students will not be playing other schools. Students should see Ms. Klassen and Ms. M. Hardy for more information.

A reminder that similar to last Halloween, students will participate in a virtual assembly where students will get to see each other’s costumes with the help of modern technology. Students are encouraged to wear their costumes to school on the morning of October 29th.

It is suggested that students bring a change of clothes to school in case their teacher would like them to change out of their costume after the virtual assembly.

Please remember that as Halloween approaches, we ask that our families take the time to make sure that costumes are school-appropriate. Please remember that costumes that portray nationalities, heritage or subcultures that are other than your own should never be used for Halloween. Costumes inspired by traumatic events in history should be avoided as well. Please also avoid costumes inspired by someone’s mental health or sexual orientation. Parents should also know that costumes that have anything to do with the COVID-19 pandemic are not appropriate for school.

Please also remember that…

  • costumes should not be too scary
  • toy weapons should be kept at home
  • students should bring an extra set of clothes just in case their teacher would like them to change sometime during the day
