Dear Parents and Families,
A huge thank you to our PAC for arranging to have the Pumpkin Patch come to us. It was an amazing afternoon of smiles that really lifted our spirits.
We also had a great time seeing all our costumes via zoom on Friday. There were even some impressive dance moves as each student got a chance to show off their costume.
We hope that you have a safe and Happy Halloween. Don’t forget about the tips we sent out earlier.

While we are fortunate to live in a relatively safe community, there have been a few incidents of strangers acting inappropriately and/or approaching children in Delta.
Please take a few moments to talk to your child(ren) about the steps they can take to be safe. Here are a few helpful reminders to share with your child:
- If you are approached by a stranger (on foot or in a car), don’t stop or talk to them, keep walking and seek help immediately (for example, at school, a friend’s house, shop or the police station). If your child has a cell phone, they should call 911 immediately – the sooner the police are notified, the faster they can address the concern.
- Don’t go anywhere with someone you don’t know, even if they tell you they are looking for a lost pet or that someone you know is hurt and they will take you to them.
- Don’t accept gifts or treats from a stranger.
- Watch out for cars that follow you. Never approach strangers sitting in a car. Don’t get into a car with someone you don’t know.
- Try to walk to school with other children.
- Trust your instincts – if you feel you are being followed, see suspicious behaviour or feel something is not right, call Delta Police at 911 for assistance, and tell your parents, teachers or another trusted adult as soon as possible.
By working together, we can help keep our children safe at home, in the neighborhood, or walking to and from school. We appreciate your support.
