Dear Parents and Families,

I trust that you and your kids had a great Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere at school on Fridahy was filled with amazing energy. We also hope that you enjoy the long weekend and spend some quality time with your loved ones.

Congratulations to our latest group of Slurpee Winners! These kids were recognized for the acts of kindness during our Kindness Campaign this month.

 

Don’t forget that Feb 26 is Pink Shirt Day. Students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt to school (it can be any pink shirt) to help emphasize the importance of kindness, diversity, acceptance, inclusion, friendship and love. Of course, participation is optional, but we hope to see as many kids wearing pink shirts to school as possible. We would also encourage parents and family members to take part as well.

 

 

We are looking forward to having Chang’s Taekwondo come to our school on Feb 18 and Feb 21. Each class will receive one workshop with Chang’s Taekwondo.

 

Please know that there has been recent updated emergency procedure language for our school district. We are required to practice emergency procedure drills (just like we do with fire drills and earthquake drills). Teachers will be working with students to prepare them for our upcoming drills this year. We will be practicing a “Hold and Secure” procedure before Spring Break and our first “Lockdown” drill will be sometime after spring break. We also recognize that sometimes students may feel some anxiety about practicing emergency procedures. Please help us by having a conversation with your child and let us know if there is anything that we should be aware of.

Thank you for all your help during pick-up and drop off. Your help and cooperation is truly appreciated. As you know we are trying to limit traffic and parking on Braid. We acknowledge that parents can often feel rushed and stressed during drop-off and pick-up times, but your efforts will help keep everyone safe.
