Coyote’s Howl April 6 – 9

Dear Parents and Families,

I hope that you are having a great Easter weekend so far. I want to thank you for your patience and support as we worked to give you accurate information about the changes to our Covid-19 Guidelines. I did send an email out on Friday with details, but I thought I would include that information here below as well.

Amended K-12 Health and Safety Guidelines

Dear Parents and Families,

Earlier today, you should have received an update from Superintendent Doug Sheppard regarding the amendments to the K-12 health and safety guidelines relating to the wearing of masks in schools.

We recognize that some elementary school students are not used to wearing masks indoors. Teachers will help students adjust to this change. In addition, students will be able to remove their masks while outside, including at recess, lunchtime and while learning outside. As the weather improves, teachers will continue to look for opportunities to move their classes outside.

We would ask for your support in the following ways:

  • Please send your child to school with a clean mask that they are used to wearing, and a spare mask. Schools will have disposable masks available if students forget their masks.
  • Please watch this Health Canada video with your child or view this poster for guidance on mask wearing.
  • Please remind your child(ren) that they should not remove their masks to eat or drink while walking through common areas of the schoo Masks should only be removed for the purposes of eating and drinking where a person is relatively stationary (e.g. sitting or standing still).
  • Please ensure that you maintain physical distance and avoid crowding while on school grounds, including outside. We encourage you to leave the school grounds promptly and to avoid interacting with others outside your household, including letting your children play with others from outside their cohort in the playground.

Many thanks for your support in helping to keep our schools safe. If there are further updates to the health and safety guidelines, we will share them with you.

Sincerely,

Mark Douangchanh

We have class photo day scheduled for April 19th. Please know that class photos will look different as per current Covid Guidelines. Photos will be outdoors and students will be spaced apart. We appreciate your understanding.

Our next PAC meeting is Wednesday, April 14th via zoom.

Our school staff will be receiving new email accounts soon. Our emails will change to, first initial + last name @deltaschools.ca. For example…my email will be mdouangchanh@deltaschools.ca.

Don’t worry about accidentally sending an email to our old accounts. Emails sent to our old accounts will be forwarded to our new ones for a year. Once again, the transition hasn’t happened yet but we expect this to happen in about a month.

  • Wednesday, April 14 – Previews go home
  • Wednesday, April 14 – PAC Meeting at 6:30
